For Re:vint’s Spring/Summer collection, I was inspired by the clean and modern architecture of Copenhagen, Denmark. I think this pretty much stemmed from the fact that I have always been in-love with Eames furniture, and have recently been renovating and adding these antique Danish furniture in our house. As we began to sketch out and work on the details of the collection, it clearly was forming itself into “The Danish Girl” with its muted palette accentuated with bright, happy colors. We tried to mimic the beautiful and sleek lines of Denmark’s modern buildings with well-placed cut-outs throughout the form. The silhouette incorporates a lot of movement– we imagined the Re:vint girls also biking around everywhere especially in gorgeous spring and summer weather!
At Sputnik Bar on Feb 25th, a group of fashion designers will be coming together to support filmmaker, Jeff Reynolds. The show, ‘CORPUS’ will also be the debut of Re:vint “The Danish Girl” Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Hope to see you there!
