John Galliano’s collections are always full of theater. Not surprising as the designer himself has appeared at the end of his shows to take a bow as a pirate, astronaut, Indian chief, or if he’s being extra clever, as himself (see last photo as he appears to take a bow). For F/W 2010 Men’s collection in Paris, I can see Galliano’s man has traveled from England as Sherlock Holmes in a Guy Ritchie production, crossed over to Continental Europe all the way to the far flung regions of Asia, which he henceforth landed in some dirty back alley in Shanghai as a street fighter and losing his religion in an Opium den. All the while meticulously outfitted in expensive tweeds, leathers, wools, embroidered silks, and high-tech sportswear. Definitely my kind of man.
