My living room has been a result of slapdash design or lack thereof. The couches are too large for my current taste (they were bought out of desperation!) and it does bother me that its TV centered. So, I’ve been trying to do some research to figure out what to do with the large flat screen that room revolves in. Technically, I only have two walls to work with, as one side is a fireplace and the other is an entrance. Le sigh.
The set up above might work, but my space is sadly not as long and narrow. Below, are a few more examples although one does get a sense that its a bit too modern. I do appreciate clean, modern but I don’t want it to look cold and clinical.
We do have a fireplace, but I’m reluctant to place it on top as a replacement for a mirror. Also, where would the DVD players hide? In the furnace? LOL It was surprising that going through an old issue of Elle Decor, Courtenay Daniels Haden’s nice Victorian living room is flanked by a Panasonic on top of a fireplace. In fact, these images below are from ElleDecor.com (none of which is the example I saw in the magazine).
Anyway, where do you put your telly?
