This was designer Yohji Yamamoto’s more commercial season, as he is known to be more avant garde than what you see here (these are in March issue of US Vogue- which never really features anything remotely unusual) . He is one of my favorite designers, an endless source of inspiration to be sure. The collection was small, but I was drawn to these laser cut dresses and jackets with Victorian shoulders and corset-style boning. And am I ever so glad to see more of these oxfords- especially like the silver toe caps! The recession has affected fashion full force, many smaller houses closing down, but I really hope all the good ones stay alive.
