StºC at the Fall Fashion Preview ’11

StCbyCherylninaStewart had so much fun last night at Style Girl’s Fall Fashion Preview, held at Blue Hand Home. It was great to meet so many people and catch up with our fashionable friends. We were certainly with the very best company, Beanie & Cecil, Aqua Fedora, Oliver and other fine boutiques and designers– it was great to be amongst them!

Our model Amanda is also wearing our Christa Gold Tie Dyed Denim Mini– but you don’t have to have her long legs to look good in it, we promise!

One attendee had to give the vest a try!

The Look Of Love

When I am not elbow-deep in fabric and work, I frequently read a lot of style blogs on top of fashion dailies. I love the blogs of the bloggerette super stars, or street fashion ones where the photographer take amazing pics of the same blogerette super stars LOL, or MOD (models off duty)! And I DIE to have a smidge of the essence of their style. They manage to incorporate VERY well current trends, and work it with their personalities, and make it all seamless. As of late, there is a cookie-cutter style tho, that is splashed everywhere at this point (kinda model-off-duty/ boho) and you wonder if that person wearing all of that truly lives life that way or just likes to look like it. It seems much more difficult I think, to look EXPENSIVE (w/o the spending the actual $), stylish and a little rough around the edges– which is why I think I am drawn to these style masters:

and currently, I have an insane girl-crush at Elin of Styleby <3 (perhaps because I already dress like her– except she has far more better taste!)

Isn’t there a law that got passed in Congress exactly about THIS (above) stuff, you know DESIGN PIRACY? I mean, I don’t think you’re fooling anyone walking around in fakes, even though its copied to the hilt. But is it weird that if I considered to wear the fake version, I’d rather pay $60 for the no-name-brand fakes than $160 for the well-known-brand fake? (And why is it Chinatown gets raided for fakes but this notorious copier doesn’t?) Although let’s face it, any one with truly original style– you know the kind that generate their own trends and copiers– would stay true.

Oooohhh, the AW11 Barney’s Fall Campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti, styled by Carine Roitfeld herself, is SO good! YUM!!! Love how it has models, fashion makers and shakers, and real people make all these beautiful designer clothing come to life! Some of my favorite photos, are here, but please check out the rest of it– seriously, several girl crushes like China Chow, Giovanna Battaglia, Marie Amelie-Sauve– are death defyingly gorgeous!
